Designed specifically with keyboards in mind, the 3305-1 socket solders into any standard PCB to add hotswap support. This means you can change out your switches for another variety at any time without additional soldering.
These sockets are tiny, but they do add some height to the underside of your PCB, so please ensure there is rrom in your case for them. There are also known compatibility issues with some brands of switch. For instance, Kailh switch pins are wider, making for a tighter fit. The sockets will still work, but it's something to be aware of.
